POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION : The purpose of this position is to direct the Accounting & Financial activities of the company.

The Controller is ultimately responsible for the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results and analysis at all times.

As part of the senior management team, the Controller plays a critical role in supporting the growth and profitability of Marous Brothers Construction.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Management

• Responsible for the management, training, and development of all direct reports.
• Work seamlessly with the operations team to improve financial accuracy and performance.

Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports which summarizes our business activity based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Implement and maintain procedures and policies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our numbers.
• Compliance with GAAP and governmental regulations.
• Direct the efforts of all external auditors, including the preparation of necessary work papers and requests.
• Identify and implement modifications to accounting and financial systems to improve efficiencies and control.
• Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile.
• Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions.

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead in the preparation, review, and finalization of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Clearly communicate and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Keep leadership abreast of financial status.
• Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
• Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
• Utilize Marous University to train employees on finance and accounting topics.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis when needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a CPA license and / or Master's degree is preferred.

Knowledge Required : S trong in accounting practices and financial analysis, great business judgement, understanding of GAAP and tax laws, strong technology skills and experience with integrated software systems and Microsoft Excel.

Experience Required : 10 years of progressive accounting and financial analysis experience, with 7 years in a management role;

preferably in a construction related industry.

Skills / Abilities : Strong management skills with excellent organization, communication, and analytical abilities. Highly accountable with strong ethical standards.

Extremely detail oriented with clear thinking and well-developed problem-solving skills. A self-motivator who is results driven and works in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization .
