Job Summary :
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for payroll functions including record-keeping, processing weekly payroll, onboarding new hires into the payroll system, and answering payroll questions from employees.
In addition, the Payroll Specialist will manage weekly reporting for the finance team and assist with training and supporting other members of the payroll team.
Duties / Responsibilities :
Responsible for receiving and processing timecards into the payroll system.
Process weekly payroll for employees accurately, and on time, utilizing the payroll system.
Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including tax withholdings and deductions.
Responsible for balance and reviewing payroll.
Collaborate with internal departments to address questions or concerns regarding reimbursements and / or deductions.
Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues.
Research and resolve complex payroll situations and issues.
Communicate with payroll PEO partner to resolve any issues.
Work closely with accounting team to reconcile payroll related accounts.
Responsible for onboarding new employees and ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete.
Identify and problem solve processes / procedural issues within the department.
Assist with implementation of new payroll technologies, processes, and procedures.
Responsible for processing terminations of employees within the payroll system.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
Strong knowledge of federal payroll regulations. Preferred knowledge of multi-state jurisdictions.
Experience with UKG payroll processing software is preferred, or other payroll processing software.
Prior experience with payroll processing in healthcare staffing is a bonus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Strong time-management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. - Must be able to work in a shared excel file>
