Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location : Roxboro, NC

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our partner hospital in Roxboro, NC.

This is an essential role within the healthcare team, providing crucial respiratory care to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities :

Patient Assessment & Treatment :

Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using specialized equipment.

Deliver ordered respiratory therapy and assess patient response, ensuring adherence to the plan of care.

Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions effectively.

Emergency Response :

Respond promptly to codes and emergency calls, assess the patient's condition, and administer appropriate treatment.

Education and Support :

Educate patients and families about their respiratory conditions and available community resources.

Equipment & Supplies :

Manage respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, including monitoring stock levels, distributing supplies, and maintaining storage areas.

Clean, sterilize, and perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment.

Policy & Procedure :

Evaluate and contribute to the improvement of respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, research, and best practices.

Qualifications :

Education : Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program with an Associate's degree or Certification of Graduation.

Certifications / Licenses :

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in North Carolina (preferred)

BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association upon hire.

PALS certification within 90 days of hire.

Experience : One year of routine respiratory care experience preferred. Graduation from an Associate Degree level program can be considered as a substitute for one year of experience.
