Our location in Aurora, CO has an opening for an Assistant Plant Manager.

The Assistant Plant Manager manages production operations to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.

This individual will create, review, and follow overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals.

Responsible for ensuring the best quality products, excellent customer service by maintaining regular quality audits, good manufacturing practices, HACCP, Global Food Safety Standards, and environmental compliance.

Your Day-to-Day

• Support Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are Priority #1, ensuring that general safety and food safety are absolute priorities by setting an example to others.
• Lead the achievement of a zero-injury workplace by ensuring safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations on environmental, health and safety issues.
• Develop, implement, and manage all production procedures to ensure all plant goals are met.
• Coach the line-centric teams (LCTs) in their Daily Direction Setting meetings, along with ability to help LCTs coach their own teams to help continue driving out top losses.
• Supervise, train and coach manufacturing management to include responsibility for personnel and labor issues throughout the plant.
• Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, demonstrating active support for the Company's culture.
• Responsible for achieving budgets for capital investments, productivity, downtime, and waste for their areas of responsibilities.
• Maintain records for all phases of production relative to the quality of the product, including plant formulation records, and those records necessary for auditing purposes.
• Analyze results of bakery operations, determine variances from standard, and take corrective action as needed.
• Conduct performance appraisals of the management team and recommend and / or implement appropriate training programs to address developmental needs.

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted
• 5-7 years of hands-on management experience and direct manufacturing experience with a consumer goods company preferred
• Familiarity with the operations of all plant departments : production, quality, maintenance, materials management, and food safety
• Demonstrated track record of leading the improvement of operations while delivering day to day performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bias for thoughtful action
• In-depth computer skills, including MS Office and ERP Software
• Knowledge of business, finance, and management principles
• Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
• Experience in reporting on key production metrics

Pay Range : $140,000 - $160,000 per year
