We are currently seeking a Machine Design Engineer / Project Engineer for a permanent position in the Grand Rapids area. The ideal candidate will possess experience in machine design and project engineering, preferably within automation, process equipment, or material handling systems.
Responsibilities :
- Design and project engineer specialized machine systems using engineering principles and mechanical design experience.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to other Machine Designers and Detailers.
- Conceptualize designs and oversee projects through to completion.
- Develop models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
- Size mechanical equipment such as pumps, gears, bearings, hydraulics, conveyors, and piping.
- Review bid specifications, detailed drawings, technical manuals, and bill of materials.
- Offer production and customer support as needed.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but not mandatory.
- Experience in machine design, particularly with process equipment, material handling, or automation systems.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with Inventor, Creo, ProE, AutoCAD, or other 3D software is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Technical proficiency, team-oriented, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $85,000 to $105,000, commensurate with experience.
