Position Overview

  • Employment Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt
  • Hourly Rate : Starting at $22.00, with potential increase to $24.50 post-training and on 2nd shift
  • Location : Mundelein, IL (On-site)
  • Shift Details : 2nd Shift, 4 : 00 PM – 2 : 30 AM (Initial training on 1st Shift, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM)

Role Responsibilities

  • Expertly operate and adjust various forming machines to meet exact specifications.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of parts during the production process for quality assurance.
  • Ensure optimal machine performance while minimizing downtime.
  • Manage detailed production logs and inspections electronically and manually.
  • Collaborate closely with teams in maintenance and quality to address production challenges.
  • Maintain a tidy and secure work area, adhering strictly to safety regulations.

    • Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to resolve machinery issues effectively.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Skilled with precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Keen eye for detail with an ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communicator with collaborative teamworking skills.

    • Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education is essential.
  • Hands-on experience in production or manufacturing environments.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including standing and lifting up to 40 lbs for extended periods.
  • Readiness to work during assigned shifts, with occasional overtime.

    • Desirable Skills

  • Experience with specific forming machinery like cold headers or hot formers is a plus.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

    • Technical Capabilities

  • Advanced equipment troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capability to set up machinery for various production cycles.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations relevant to shop and manufacturing environments.
  • Blueprint analytical skills.

    • Equipment Proficiency

  • Experience with Cold Heading Machines and other industry-specific technologies.
