JOB SUMMARY :

Building a Customer Satisfaction culture and maximizing the customer shopping experience by ensuring that all customers receive fast, friendly, and accurate checkout.

Monitor total store customer satisfaction, front end stock levels of merchandisers, and help support total store cleanliness.

Manage the duties of Courtesy Clerks, Cashiers, and Service Supervisors. Oversee Front End operations, while supporting store sales and overall operating plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Promotes a customer-focused approach to stores sales & customer count growth by creating an atmosphere of enthusiastic personalized customer satisfaction.

Trains and empowers associates to resolve 2nd level customer relations issues.

Provides leadership to create and maintain a positive store image for customers and associates alike and helps to build store teamwork and morale.

Energizes associates through positive leadership. Trains, coaches, develops and supervises associates for improved performance.

Lead and supervise Front-End operations. Monitor and direct customer traffic flow, coverage of checkout lanes (i.e., facilitates breaks and lunches, schedules daily duties of front-end associates), cleanliness and appearance of front-end physical area.

Leads front-end activities, ensures compliance of company policies and front-end procedures (i.e., scan accuracy, WIC, restricted sales, check acceptance, etc.)

Manages front end staffing levels, and scheduling disciplines for full time vs. part time associates.

Oversees cash flow requirements including : safe transactions, issues and pickups, tills, approving checks and refunds, and monitoring cashier funds handling procedures.

Works with the Service Supervisors to solve problems including, cash variances, refunds and till balance irregularities.

Oversees and verify weekly labor, cash shortages, and check expense through store sales, and FE labor.

Provides feedback to cashiers on key metrics of accuracy, effectiveness of programs and productivity (i.e., IPM).

Attend and participate in all store department head meetings and department manager activities

Coordinate and implement corporate programs (i.e., non-profit events, sales push items, Item promotions for the week, etc.)

Monitor usage, and ordering of front-end supplies. Ensure total store compliance with corp. audits, company dress standards, sanitation, safety (i.

e., ensure Gleason walks are completed), security and other policies.

Serve as cashier when needed.

Perform other necessary and required duties with the ability to be teachable and flexible due to the constantly changing and evolving environment we work in

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS :

Education / Experience / Skills

Possess a thorough knowledge of Front-End work best methods, scanning and bagging procedures and 5s. Know company policies and procedures, record and verify procedures relating to protection of store funds.

Must be able to effectively operate and train others in the operation of Front-End cash registers, and / or scanning equipment.

Understands and knows store business statistics (sales, labor, gross, department sales mix, ticket sales, and customer count,).

Requires knowledge of one and two-step math calculations (i.e. addition, subtraction, and percent calculations).

Ability to be friendly, courteous and maintain a professional composure in dealing with customers and co-workers at all times, as well as concentrate, and deal with interruptions.

Can work independently and take initiative without direction. The candidate must be a self starter.

Requires good written and verbal communication skills, leadership skills, and possesses the ability to develop people while demonstrating an understanding of Company Core Values reflected in personal and professional conduct.

Maintains confidentiality concerning associates, store sales, and Company information. Perform all job duties and responsibilities with honesty and integrity.

Knowledge of product variety, location and perishability, as well as safety and sanitation procedures.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Management, leadership, and supervisory skills

Basic computer skills.

Good understanding of overall company practices and Department policies and procedures.

Ability to work a mid-shift scheduled form 10am 7pm.

Must be able to be relocate to a store within 15 20 miles from home depending on the needs of the business.

The job requires the ability to travel.

The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
