POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping Supervisor will Supervise and coordinate shipping personnel to ensure daily goals are met. This role will oversee and / or coordinate all shipping of outbound materials
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment; correct any unsafe condition or behaviors
- Supervise and coordinate shipping personnel to ensure daily goals are met
- Collaborate with other leads and supervisors to facilitate cross-training opportunities; develop employee knowledge in multiple skill sets
- Certify employee knowledge through work instruction audits
- Coordinate international shipments and prepare proper documentation
- Process LTL damage claims and disputes
- Oversee and / or coordinate all shipping of outbound materials
- Ensure quality standards are followed and corrective action is take to prevent future errors
- Gather and evaluate data related to shipping efficiency to initiate and prioritize improvement activities
- Conduct department meetings on a daily basis
- Perform the essential job training functions of the shipping department as needed
- Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets
- Actively participate in all aspects of human relations including hiring, orientation, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and scheduling;
coordinate with Human Resources
- Inspire, motivate, and lead others in utilizing Lean manufacturing tools to deliver results
- Organize materials at work station and department according to 6S standards
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree and two years of supervisory experience; or four or more years of supervisory experience
- Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel, ERP Software, Carrier Software and Websites

This position is subject to Medium Work : Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 100 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 100 pounds of force constantly to move objects

Visual Acuity
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures;
- transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and / or operation of machines (including inspection);
using measurement devices; and / or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
Working Conditions
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, including heat, noise, vibration, and hazards from a production-based environment.
