Summary :
Responsible for patient assessment, patient care planning,and provision of quality nursing care to an assigned group ofpatients for a defined work period.
Provides direction andsupervision to LVN / LPNs, nursing assistants, unit secretaries andother clinical / clerical associates.
By assignment, may function ascharge nurse for the unit. Involves provision of patientcare / service to older adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric andpediatric patients.
CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital- Medical Center (CSRH-MC), located in the South Texas MedicalCenter, provides a high-level of care through compassionate hands,experience physicians, and advanced technology, including the daVinci Surgical Robot System and the Mako™ Robotic-Arm AssistedSystem.
Services at the 178- bed facility include Acute Care of theElderly Unit, cardiology, diabetes care, emergency care, generalsurgery, kidney transplantation at the CHRISTUS TransplantInstitute, orthopedics, outpatient rehabilitation and aquatictherapy, Senior Behavioral Health Center, urology, and the WoundCare and Hyperbaric Center.

Experience
One year experience innursing preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, orCertifications
- CurrentTexas State RN License or Compact RNLicense
- BLS (American HeartAssociation)
- ACLS required at time of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain ACLS by the end ofthe clinical orientation period.
- PALS requiredat time of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses mustobtain PALS by the end of the clinical orientation period.
- Crisis intervention training required within12 months of hire / transfer date
- For traumadesignated facilities, TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18months of hire / transfer date.
