Foundations is looking for a school based K-5th grades Speech Language Pathologist for the Surprise, Dysart, and surrounding areas!

Purpose of the Position : To assess students' speech language development skills (e.g. receptive / expressive language skills, speech production skills, social language skills development, etc.

and interpret results for the purpose of determining in their need for special education services. To help students meet their goals related to speech language development.

Overtime Status : Exempt

Salary Range : $80,000-$85,000 per year

Position Responsibilities and Duties :

Assess students' speech language development skills (e.g. receptive / expressive language skills, speech production skills, social language skills development, etc.

and interpret results for the purpose of determining their need for special education services.

  • Develops speech-language therapy programs and provides direct therapy to students in accordance with their individualized plans.
  • Provides consultation to classroom teachers, administrators, and parents.
  • Reviews and maintains speech-language files and related paperwork to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and / or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. evaluation reports, individualized treatment plans, student data, billing records, and progress reports) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and / or conveying information to others.
  • Presents information about students and / or programs to a variety of audiences including families, colleagues, and outside agencies.
  • Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.

Minimum Skills or Qualifications :

  • Education : Master's degree
  • Hold a valid SLP / SLT license in the state of Arizona
  • Hold a valid Department of Education SLP / SLT license in the state of Arizona
  • Hold a current AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Hold current CPR certification
  • Maintain Continuing Education requirements, as per AzDHS ()

Work Environment and Physical Demands :

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes
  • Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.
  • The noise intensity level is moderate to high
