Are you a finance leader with a passion for public service and real estate development? We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial operations for a quasi-governmental agency focused on providing affordable housing opportunities in Salt Lake City.

This dynamic role offers the opportunity to guide the financial strategy for a $61 million portfolio, manage complex grant programs, and play a key part in expanding the agency’s real estate development efforts.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations and GAAP standards.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a strong, collaborative work environment.
  • Shape the strategic direction of the organization by offering insights into investment, financing, and long-term planning.
  • Manage the preparation and communication of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and audits to ensure timely and accurate financial updates.
  • Support the organization’s real estate development efforts by preparing funding applications, managing cash flow, and ensuring project compliance.
  • Leverage technology to advance financial reporting through dashboards and data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

What You Bring :

  • Extensive experience in financial management, including cash forecasting, budgeting, and internal auditing.
  • Knowledge of property management principles and federal housing programs, including tax credits.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, the public, and key stakeholders.
  • A track record of success in strategic financial planning and risk management.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience with financial software (YARDI is a plus).
  • Experience with A-133 audits and federal grant management.

Education & Experience :

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of financial management experience, ideally with governmental accounting.
  • Experience with real estate development and affordable housing is a plus.
