As a part of a small, cross-functional team, you'll help maintain, manage, and operate Electrical and Control systems such as AC / DC Power Distribution and Grounding, PLC system architecture, and Motor Control Systems as part of the Launch Operations - Ground Control Systems team supporting the New Glenn Launch Program.
You'll share in the team's impact on all aspects of New Glenn operations by ensuring transporter erector, integration facility, test stand, launch pad, ground, and marine systems are ready for successful and safe integrated operations.
We seek Electrical and Controls Engineers of all backgrounds who are passionate about space and possess a strong desire to serve on the providing critical GSE infrastructure to the New Glenn program.
Responsibilities :
Maintain and checkout mission critical electrical and control systems supporting real-time telemetry of power systems in rocket launch environments to support reusable spacecraft operations
Manage & troubleshoot electrical and controls at the launch pad and in a maritime environment in support of all phases of launch & landing operations, ensuring systems readiness and mission capabilities
Establish and run procedures for verification of requirements and specifications against selected electrical and control hardware through bench, integrated systems, and field testing to ensure interoperability and functionality
Recommend and apply information security processes and mechanisms to ensure the integrity of mission critical electrical and control systems and ensure the safety of personnel and flight hardware
Develop and maintain configuration control and inventory of electrical and control assets
Create detailed documentation, including functional and logical diagrams, for mission electrical and control systems
Qualifications :
5+ years of experience as a practicing Electrical or Controls Engineer OR 7 + Years as a practicing Electrical or Controls Technician
Experience in maintenance, test, and troubleshooting of power distribution systems up to 600VAC / 600VDC
Experience in maintenance, test, and troubleshooting control panels for mechanical equipment with VFD / PLC and motion-control-based systems with operator driven interfaces such as HMI screens or wired / wireless pushbutton controls
Experience working with electrical distribution systems, including installation, maintenance, and safety protocols such as switchgears, panels / enclosures, conduit, cable tray, etc.
Experience with grounding / bonding requirements definition, implementation, and verification
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC System Architecture and Programming
Ability to work independently and as part of a highly diversified team
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.
S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired :
Must be able to travel in support of test and flight operations.
Must be able to support off-shift (night / weekend) operations.
Must be able to obtain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as a DOT Physical
Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
BS degree in a related field or work history will be considered if qualifications are met. Professional Engineering license can be used to substitute for work history.
Experience with launch vehicle, aircraft, or spacecraft integration and test
Experience in AutoCAD Electrical
Experience in Microsoft Visio and Windchill PDM systems
Familiarity with NFPA 70, 70E, 780 and AFSPCMAN91-710
Active or eligible for National Security Clearance SSBI
