Material Coordinator, Mailroom

The Material Coordinator, Mailroom will operate the WSMR, NM mailroom location and material coordination for DEVCOM Analysis Center at WSMR. Responsibilities include :
- Driving Government-owned vehicles, trucks (up to 1-ton capacity) and forklifts.
- Transporting mail articles and materiel throughout the installation and on public roads.
- Loading and unloading materiel from the US Post Office, organizational mailrooms, field printing, FedEx locations or drop-off sites, and other distribution centers.
- Receiving, presorting (reads address labels and sorts according to address / location), and distributing all incoming and outgoing mail by category to designated organizational element, individual, or to authorized distribution points.
- Accepting and signing for certified, registered, and overnight mail.
- Examining incoming documents / packages to determine delivery process to be followed.
- Routing correspondence to designated organizational element or individual.
- Performing review of operation inspection checklist and reporting any discrepancies or suspected postal offenses or losses to Government POC.
- Processing outgoing mail by using postage equipment to prepare and affix postage on outgoing mail, metering flat, letter, package, and other mail.
- Storing and maintaining all mail in a safeguarded environment.
- Contacting addressee regarding pick-up of mail or articles too large for distribution.
- Providing mail window services (when applicable).
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail according to federal agency postal service and classified document requirements (e.g., ensure classified mail is signed and accounted for according to AR 380-5).
- Ensuring vehicle is not loaded beyond the rated capacity by checking gross vehicle weight rated (GVWR) of vehicle to be loaded with no overhangs or vision obstacles.
- Completing trip ticket by annotating daily utilization and preventive maintenance service record (check / complete the daily operation inspection list on the back of the trip ticket).
- May provide restricted area escort per local DAC G-2 Security procedures.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and teletype message according to federal agency postal service and classified document requirement (e.g., ensure classified mail is signed and accounted for according to AR 380-5).
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED;Minimum three (3) years military or civilian experience in Government Property Administration, and / or material / inventory control;Maintain a valid state-issued Driver's license and applicable Government / Army license;Secret Security Clearance.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to follow oral and written directions.Knowledge of fabrics and construction methods.Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access.Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.Physical Demands :
