About The Position
Job Title : Occupational Therapist Job Specialty : Occupational Therapy Job Duration : 26 weeks Shift : Monday to Friday, Days Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 1 year of experience preferred but not necessary License : Necessary licensure for North Dakota Certifications : Must complete CPR every other year Must-Have : MS or BS degree in Occupational Therapy Job Description : Assess, plan, organize, develop, and implement occupational therapy programs in hospital and community settings to aid in the rehabilitation of individuals with mental or physical impairments.
- Direct patient participation in activities to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance, promoting adaptation and productivity.
- Evaluate, plan, develop, organize, and implement therapy programs for patients of all age groups, covering activities of daily living and various sensorimotor, perceptual-motor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Complete assessments of physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs and limitations.- Consult with rehabilitation team members to develop appropriate programs for each patient.
- Teach patients skills and techniques for participation and independence in self-care activities; evaluate progress.- Adapt programs to meet individual patient needs.
- Perform work site analysis and provide recommendations.- Conduct hospital ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations.
- Requisition supplies and equipment; maintain and repair tools and equipment as needed.- Conduct training programs and participate in training medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
- Design, fabricate, and fit adaptive devices such as splints and braces.- Record and report patient progress.- Provide therapy services for home health and other contracted facilities or groups.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Note : Background check required. Maintains knowledge of and observes standard precautions and OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities performed primarily within hospital rehab department, with occasional duties outside in various settings.
Involves frequent walking, lifting, and bending. Requires participation in the Safety Management Program.
