RESPONSIBILITIES
- Floater- not assigned to a particular program-cross training at multiple sites. Will be a 'Floater' meaning candidate will be assigned to different sites where / when needed
- Salt Lake City, UT- most work regional, except one site that's 20 minutes outside of Salt Lake City
- Total of 4 different customer sites
- Lab packing, waste consolidation, waste pick ups
- Will be using personal vehicle-paid travel time in mileage
- $23-$27 DOE
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
Tasks
- Make waste pickups at labs as needed.
- Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications.
- Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered.
- Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance.
- Inspect storage area for leaks or spills.
- Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations.
- Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
- Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing.
- Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork.
- Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program.
- Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal.
- Maintain and manage waste profile data.
- Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Experience : Minimum Requirements
Required / Preferred Education Description Major / Specialization
Required 2 years college or specialized training Chemistry / Biology / Environmental Science / Related
Experience : 3 to 5 years
Alternative : Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Required / Preferred Certificate or License
Required 40 Hour OSHA Training.
Required Forklift Training and certification.
Required Reactive Materials certification.
Required DOT Training.
Required CleanPack Chemist Training Course.
Required LICENSES : Valid drivers license with clean driving record (*see definition below) Commercial drivers license-Class "B / C" with hazardous materials (preferred)
Required Clean Driving record, for the purposes of CHESI employment, includes : No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years No DUI / DWI in past 3 years No preventable accidents in the past year No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years No serious moving violations in past 3 years, i.
e., Reckless driving, Driving to endanger, Open alcohol containers, etc.
