What you will do : Strategic Planning :

Strategic Planning :

  • Strategically advance existing Emergency Management planning across all facilities strengthening Endeavor Health's overall resilience.
  • Design and execute comprehensive Emergency Management and Business Continuity plans that address and encompass all aspects of the Endeavor Corporate Offices.

Medical offsite locations and each of the Endeavor hospitals.

  • Create strategies to mitigate risks and ensure resilience against potential threats and hazards.
  • Develops and implements the Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) for Endeavor Health and coordinates with Emergency Management and Business Continuity leaders at individual facilities on their specific IPP.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership regarding program status and enhancement roadmap to demonstrate threats and risks are actively being addressed.
  • Projects capital needs relative to emergency management, continuity of operations, and the maintenance of equipment and supply caches.

Implementation and Training :

  • Leads development of Endeavor Health's Continuity of Operations and Business Continuity training and awareness initiatives and delivers training.
  • Manages the design, coordination, and implementation of hospital wide and site-specific training programs involving emergency plans, Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), NIMS, patient decontamination, medical surge, mass vaccination, supervisor training, and other emergency preparedness training for staff.
  • Organize, design, facilitate, and oversee regular drills and exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of the facility-level Emergency Operations Plans and Continuity of Operations plans.

Identify, document, and track opportunities for improvement, implement changes, and update plans.

Coordination and Collaboration :

  • Oversees the individual Endeavor Health Emergency Management leaders to enhance and mature their local Emergency Operations Plans
  • Coordinates with the individual Endeavor Health Emergency Management, Hospital Preparedness, Business, and Clinical leaders to develop and / or enhance Continuity of Operations (or Business Continuity) planning at each Endeavor Health facility.
  • Interacts with local, state, and federal emergency response agencies for planning and response activities.
  • Oversees Endeavor Health level hospital preparedness program activities and coordinates with leaders of hospital preparedness activities at the facility level.
  • Supports Enterprise Risk Management efforts.
  • Participates with external task forces, committees and agencies regarding Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations including those but not limited to the hospital, local regional state, and federal levels.
  • Work closely with Information Technology, Information Security, Security, Facilities, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of the Emergency Operations Plan and the Continuity of Operations Plans

Incident Management :

  • Works with internal departments, external agencies, and vendors in developing and maintaining the Emergency Operation Plan (EOP) and hazard-specific plans and agreements that strengthen the hospital's emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
  • On-call to support individual Endeavor Health emergency response and continuity plan activations
  • Utilizes current information systems and technologies (such as Emergency Notification System, Interoperable Communication tools, Patient Tracking, and others) to support Emergency Management and Business Continuity programs.
  • Coordinate incident response with the individual Endeavor Health facility leaders to actual threats, emergencies, business disruptions or disasters, ensuring effective communication and execution of emergency operations, continuity of operations, and recovery plans.

Risk Assessment and Continual Improvement :

  • Conducts business impact analyses across all Endeavor Health facilities.
  • Continually review programmatic documentation and improve plans based on lessons learned from real events, exercises, drills, and changes to the operational environment at any of the Endeavor Health facilities.

Compliance and Reporting :

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to emergency management and business continuity.
  • Provide regular reports, program status updates, and other presentations as requested to the Chief Executive Leadership and Senior Leadership of Endeavor Health.

  • Bachelors degree in Emergency Management, Public Health Sciences, Health Administration, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred)

Certification :

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Practitioner (CBCP) or ability to complete CBCP certification within one year of hire.
  • Completion of FEMA IS 100, 200, 700, and 800 or ability to complete them within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of FEMA IS 300 and 400 within one year of hire.

Experience :

Minimum of 7 years' experience in emergency management, continuity of operations (business continuity), risk management or a related field.

  • Familiarity with hospital regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery principles, methodologies, and best practices.
