Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities - In partnership with the Director of Communications & Development, assist in crafting compelling messages to engage staff, client and community audiences across a number of platforms (intranet, social media, website, e-newsletters, printed publications, etc.). Content creation - Lead Wyandot BHN's multimedia content creation efforts and maintain content calendar. Work with Communications & Development staff, as well as other program staff, to create engaging content for print, digital and social media platforms that elevates awareness of Wyandot BHN programs and services, as well as general knowledge of behavioral health. Coordinate the content creation process from conceptualization through publication. Social media management - Generate and schedule consistent posts across Wyandot BHN's four social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X). Monitor page activity and engage with audiences when appropriate. Keep an eye on community partners' pages and share relevant content when appropriate. Special events - Assist with execution of community, donor and staff events. Work with organizational leaders and vendors to organize successful events that align with Wyandot BHN's values. Manage logistical needs and promote events to relevant audiences. Website maintenance - Ensure consistent upkeep of Wyandot BHN's websites, including creating and updating content. Serve as liaison between organization and outside web developer to monitor site performance, troubleshoot issues and communicate needs beyond in-house capabilities. Review websites regularly to ensure information is accurate, up-to-date and error-free. Analytics - Assist Director of Communications and Development with monitoring and assessing communications platform analytics. Compile routine analytics reporting from Google Analytics (GA4) and social media profile insights to grow audiences and inform content decisions. Graphic design - Coordinate with management and other program staff to create print and digital materials for both internal and external use. Community outreach - Seek out and engage in community outreach events and recruit staff volunteers to participate in such events to help promote awareness of Wyandot BHN's programs and services. Photography & videography - Serve as Wyandot BHN's primary photographer and videographer at organizational and community events. Capture and edit images and video that help to tell the story of Wyandot BHN. Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as needed / assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, non-profit management, human services or related field
  • 1-2 years of previous experience writing and publishing organizational communications across a variety of platforms, including social media, website and Constant Contact
  • Strong writing, speaking, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use appropriate finesse when communicating challenging issues / topics and the potential impact on the organization and / or community
  • Professional experience managing websites and social media platforms, including creating and publishing original content
  • Previous experience with event planning and coordination preferred
  • Must be able to articulate the vision, mission and values of the organization through writing and presentations
  • Working knowledge of Constant Contact or similar service, Canva and / or Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, SurveyMonkey, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X (formerly known as Twitter)

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
