Maintenance Technician 2 nd Shift : Rockford, IL

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to support our client’s Preventative Maintenance program. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment issues, making necessary repairs
• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on production machinery and facility support equipment
• Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and validate repairs
• Follow all safety protocols, including Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, GMPs, and OSHA standards
• Develop sustainable solutions for equipment and mechanical system issues
• Complete assigned work orders efficiently, maintaining detailed records
• Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting as needed
• Manage parts inventories and reorder lists
• Ensure all products meet the highest quality standards
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and team projects
• Support facility maintenance, including operation and maintenance of steam boilers, water chillers, cooling towers, well pumps, HVAC, and other plant utility equipment
• Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills for data collection and reporting

Skills & Experience :

• Education : Technical training in a maintenance-related field OR
• Experience : Three years of industrial equipment maintenance required, food manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge : mechanical skills with bearings, seals, gaskets, gearboxes, sprockets / chains, belts, clutches, and brakes
• Abilities : lift 50-70 pounds, climb ladders, use power and hand tools, and perform mechanical and electrical repairs
• Software : basic computer skills

Pay : $25.00 / hour - $30.00 / hour, based on experience, plus $2.00 / hour shift differential

Type : 2nd shift, full-time, onsite

Schedule : Monday Friday 2 : 30 p.m. 11 : 00 p.m., OT, weekends, and holidays as needed
