Warehouse Associate Job Description
Non-Exempt
Reports To : Branch Manager
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing and organizing the warehouse.
Responsible for providing outstanding, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service to help us increase customer satisfaction, making sure clients depend on us for their auto glass needs.
Warehouse associates are the backbone of our thriving auto glass business and are responsible for the day-to-day tasks that keep the warehouse running efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITES :
The following responsibilities are subject to change based on the needs of the company and employee interest level :
Quickly and accurately receive, process and store incoming auto glass product shipments.
Ensures shipments are inspected and damages or shortages are documented and recorded. Initiates freight claim procedure when necessary.
Checks incoming delivery contents against packing list to verify accurate and full delivery.
Verifies vendor part number and MGC stock number for all incoming products.
Prepares receiving reports and notes any shortages, damages or overages. Promptly reports any discrepancies to supervisors.
Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and OR other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures.
Determines proper bin number and / or location of incoming products.
Stores incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
Selects products from inventory to fill customer orders.
Prepares, packs, and scans (as appropriate), and stages products for transfer and customer pick-up and delivery in accordance with established standards.
Ensures that auto glass is loaded / unloaded safely and properly to avoid damage.
Processes documentation necessary to ship transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests and other necessary documents.
Loads delivery vehicles and assists customers with will call pickups.
Processes customer returns. Ensures returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
Verifies that warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out. Initiates warranty return process, and stages product in warranty area.
Performs cycle counting on assigned items to keep accurate inventory records.
Verifies actual counts of stock against CORE inventory. Investigates and reports discrepancies.
Ensures safety by maintaining cleanliness of warehouse
Ensures that aisles are free of potential hazards
Reports unsafe conditions to management
Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors
Always wears protective & safety equipment according to company policies and procedures
Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of customer service experience that includes providing information and / or assistance directly to the public OR one (1) year previous warehouse experience.
Experience with inventory software
Pass and maintain Forklift certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as : visual inspection involving small defects, parts, and / or operation of machines (including inspection);
- and / or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and making fine discriminations in sound;
- Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects;
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and / or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch extended periods of time during 8-10-hour work shift.
