Duties :
1 : Assessment skills. Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately.
Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive and accurate.
2. Clinical Skills. Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills. Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit. Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
3. Documentation. Maintains complete and accurate documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of documentation guidelines. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patients progress toward meeting outcomes in the patients chart including patient education.
4. Professionalism. Demonstrates professional practice responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
5. Patient Satisfaction. Consistently responds to patients / families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promotes an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goal and objectives.
Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
6. Safety. Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patients.
7. Unit Specific Job Function. Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions / diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure / instructions.
8. Responsibility and Accountability. Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
09. Patient Education and Chart Completion. Assesses patients understanding of surgical procedure / instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching.
Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
10. Duties Specific to PAT RN. Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner. Evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.

Education :
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Associates or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
travel & epic experience required; must be open to float; 36 hours / week
