FEV is seeking a highly motivated entry level engineer in the field of Rapid Prototyping (RP) controls and software development for engine and hybrid / electric vehicle control systems.
Job Responsibilities :
- Develop RP controls software for vehicle propulsion systems
- Configure RP controls hardware for vehicle propulsion systems
- Perform MiL, SiL, HiL testing to verify and validate the control strategy and functions
- Support engine dyno testing and vehicle testing
- Ensure customer satisfaction by conducting projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and / or exceeding technical and timing expectations
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
- Good controls software development background with MATLAB / Simulink
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and drawings
- Understanding of electronic control system, sensors and actuators
- Understanding of engine and hybrid / electric vehicle powertrain system
- Must be a motivated team player to perform in fast paced development environment
- Good communicator (oral and written), organized, and mindful of time management
Preferred Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
- Experience with real-time embedded control software development including C Programming
- Hands-on experience with RP control hardware such as that from dSPACE, Pi Innovo and / or ETAS
- Good knowledge of CAN communication protocol
- Knowledge of real-time control design methods and strategy development
- Good knowledge of electronic control system, sensors and actuators in the electric powertrain
