Job Summary

The primary goal of this position is to manage, maintain, and analyze information being used by the Logistics Department.

This is achieved by applying supply chain and transportation principles; and by extensive work and communication with internal and external networks.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Active Carrier Information by interacting with third party companies and internal stakeholder in order to ensure the compliance of the information with CEMEX Corporate Audit requirements and audits.
  • Review and analyze information required by Regional Logistics Team to process approval of new haulers and / or vendors.
  • Analyze and report the Monthly Fuel Surcharge schedules to be use in multiple regions across the country for payment to haulers.
  • Analyze and report the Fuel Surcharge budget for the following year.
  • Develop and control of KPI reports for trucking and rail through Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Control and support in ordering, storing, using, and receiving the Safer Roads together equipment, a CEMEX safety initiative.
  • Support the department maintaining databases and monitoring railcar leases through communication with different departments within the Corporate office, business regions, CEMEX Mexico, Lessors of railcars, and others.
  • Manage and process of manual payments of railcars off lease and other services used in operation.
  • Assist in the preparation and payment of the Annual Property Tax Reports of railcar assets.
  • Analyze and identify utilization of assets (railcars and haulers) for optimization opportunities.
  • Use of SAP for : PO Processing, invoice payments, obtain freight databases, monitor insurance requirements for haulers, others.
  • Perform other projects / activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BA / BS degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management or Business (Preferred)
  • 2-3 years Logistics, freight and or Supply Chain experience in a multi-facility manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong systems aptitude and savvy - knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Excel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, math, and data management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Excellent client service approach.
  • Ability to handle multiple task and activities concurrently.
  • Ability to work in a team and with multiple business units.
  • Knowledge of MS Office. Advanced Excel preferable (creation of databases, formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Bilingual, Spanish helpful.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently. Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees / visitors
