Overall Functions
This person will perform research and collect data to be used in the preparation of written in-house valuations related to valuing residential, commercial, and agricultural real estate held as collateral.
They will perform administrative duties to support the real estate valuation team.
Qualifications
This person should have a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or the equivalent. A background in real estate, valuation assessment, or other credit underwriting experience within a residential, commercial, or agricultural business is preferred, including knowledge of appraisal theory and real estate lending.
A basic understanding of applicable banking laws, rules, regulations, and requirements is important. Excellent communications skills are required.
Must be able to meet objectives, goals, and deadlines with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities
1. Collect sales data to be used in the preparation of internal residential, commercial, and agricultural real estate valuations.
2. Maintain database of sales information. 3. Order real estate appraisals from bank-approved appraisers under the direction of supervisor.
4. Maintain checklist for appraiser licensing and insurance. 5. Upload reports and metrics into lending platform. 6. Research and collect market data pertaining to current market conditions : absorption, demographics, employment, new companies, rents, vacancies, etc.
for each major property type (retail, office, industrial, and agricultural). 7. Obtain environmental reports and other independent reports as needed to support the lending group in risk evaluation.
8. Assist Credit Administration Department with various job functions. 9. Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
10. Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training.
