Criminal Defense Attorney

Position Overview :

Peakstone Law Group, a premier law firm based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking a dedicated Associate Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team.

This role is pivotal to our firm's commitment to providing top-tier legal representation in the realm of criminal defense, with opportunities to learn and engage in probate litigation as a secondary responsibility.

The ideal candidate will be an advocate passionate about criminal law, eager to make a significant impact on our clients' lives, and interested in expanding their expertise.

Key Responsibilities :

• Represent clients in a wide range of criminal cases, including but not limited to DUI, misdemeanor, and felony cases.
• Conduct research, draft legal documents, and prepare defense strategies.
• Attend court appearances, trials, and pre-trial conferences on behalf of clients.
• Offer legal advice to clients and guide them through the criminal justice process.
• Develop and maintain client relationships through exceptional communication and service.
• Learn and assist in probate litigation cases, under the mentorship of an experienced attorney.
• Collaborate with the firm's attorneys to enhance legal strategies and firm growth.

Qualifications :

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the bar in Colorado.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in criminal law practice, with felony experience.
• Former Deputy District Attorney or Public Defender preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Strong research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• First-rate courtroom and jury trial skills.
• A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• An openness to expanding knowledge into the firm's other practice areas.
