Overview :
The RAPID RESPONSE RN provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
The Rapid Response RN will be required to float to North Campus, the Pavilion and Specialty areas. The RRT RN team may respond to ACC building, Faculty Clinic, both inpatient and outpatient departments in Pavilion, North and Clinical Center including front and back sidewalks of hospital buildings and employee garage.
The Rapid Response RN must comply with all license, certification, and training requirements. The Rapid Response RN is expected to perform as mentor in 'Walking in the Shoes of a Nurse Leader' when assigned.
The Rapid Response RN is expected to proactively round on assigned patients, respond to activations and codes, lead debriefings and provide bedside education.
Qualifications : Required Education :
Required Education : Associates degree

Specific course work : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position.
Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
Preferred Education :
Required Licensure / Certifications :
Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida
BLS from American Heart Association
ACLS from the American Heart Association
PALS from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire or transfer
NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer
Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer.
Preferred Licensure / Certifications :
Professional Certification preferred.
Required Experience :
3-5 years of Critical Care / ICU / ED registered nurse experience
Preferred Experience :
3+ years of Critical care / ICU / ED registered nurse experience.
Necessary Skills :
1. Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
2. Proficient in ACLS guidelines
3. Excellent written and verbal communication
4. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
