Position Description :
DePelchin has an opening in the Fort Bend area for a recent grad who is interested in receiving a broad range of experience, working with youth between the ages of 3-17 and their families in the FAYS (Family and Youth Success) Program.
The Counselors in this program will engage families in everything from teaching coping and social skills, to working with youth who are managing mental health concerns such as depression or anxiety, or even youth needing general support as they navigate life.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in exploring a career in private practice, as the FAYS program teaches strong documentation skills and is committed to training all team members to feel confident in their clinical skills.
Counselors in the FAYS program may be able to receive free in-house clinical supervision for those pursuing their clinical license.
The FAYS program has a strong team dynamic and believe in teaching and encourage learning and growth.
Required Qualifications :
- Master's in Social Work or related Human Services field.
- Fully licensed as an LMSW; or
- Provisionally licensed as a LMFT-Associate; or LPC-Associate; or
- Passed the licensure exam to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate or LPC-Associate.
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining full / provisional licensure within 90 days of hire. Errors and omissions made by the licensing entity do not alter this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Fluent in Spanish. English required.
- One (1) year experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and accepted therapy and counseling treatment models.
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
- Work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Must have relevant knowledge / clinical skills.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and work force.
- Ability to problem solve complex problems in family relationships.

Work Conditions :
- Environment : Office
- Range of Schedule : Mon Fri, 7 : 00 a.m. to 8 : 00 p.m., Occasional nights or weekends.
