PositionSummary :
This position is primarilyresponsible for the design analysis and documentation of electricalsystems for microgrids mobile power generation power distributionand renewable energy equipment.
Duties may also include onsitecommissioning and troubleshooting work.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities :
- Design and review medium / low voltage electrical powergeneration distribution and microgrid systems.
- Prepare electrical documentation including Short CircuitArc Flash and Coordination Power System Grounding Load FlowHarmonics Fault studies and Transient studies using software suchas ETAP / SKM.
- Prepare other documentationincluding area classifications drawings and reports fugitiveemissions studies singleline diagrams and electrical BOMs as wellas reports associated with electrical system studies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related toelectrical systems.
- Provide engineeringsupport to other departments as needed.
Educational and OtherRequirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineeringwith a minimum of 12 years of cumulative experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with medium voltagepower generation system design (including distribution linedesign).
- Minimum of 5 years of experienceperforming electrical studies with ETAP / SKM.
- Thorough knowledge of applications electrical codes andstandards (IEEE NEC NFPA API etc.).
- Experiencewith Power Generation Controls and Automation.
- Experience with programming Digital MultifunctionRelays.
- Experience developing relay logicelectrical protection and coordination schemes.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communicationskills.
- Willingness to learn new technologiesand skills.
- Willingness to adapt to changingtechnologies and industry practices.
PreferredQualifications :
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Master’s degree.
- Experience with electrical systems design in the oil andgas and / or mining industries.
- Experience inthe installation operation or troubleshooting of industrialautomation equipment.
