Job Description :

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16.

The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Education :

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required

Experience :

6 Months- Nursing- Acute Care

2000 hours direct bedside care in a step-down or intermediate care unit as a Registered Nurse in the last 3 years Core Requirement.

Certifications / Licensures :

RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required

BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Core Requirement

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required prior to completion of orientation to the assigned area

Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11 / 15 / 2018) Required

Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test Internal Candidates Must Pass Prior to Applying for Position (must be proctored in Human Resources) Required

NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification

Skills : Core :

Core :

Demonstrates competency in caring for pre-and post- cardio-thoracic surgery, esophageal surgery, and cardiovascular interventional procedural patients.

Able to provide competent care for patients requiring cardioversion, thoracentesis, temporary pacing, and moderate sedation.

Demonstrates competency in the management of IV medicated drips requiring minimal titration, including select vasoactive and antiarrhythmic agents

Demonstrates competency in the management of stable DKA patients .

12.0 - 07 : 00 - 20 : 00 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range : $77.04 - $104.97

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated / relevant experience and / or licensure.

Note : Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting.

The work shift will contain the word exempt’ on it.
