Summary :
Interface with other aircraft disciplinesincluding structural and electrical disciplines across the Aircraftplatforms.
Work with amultidiscipline team on advanced parachute system designdevelopment.
Identifyselect and coordinate with suppliers.
Active involvement in development andcertification of parachute systems under FAR Part 23.
Manage suppliers on a weeklycadence for technical deliverables by hosting weekly meetingscreating agendas and facilitating action / issue tasks.
Research industry guidancedocuments for best practices e.g. SAE ASTM.
Create 3D models and drawings of parachutesystems in Creo.
Authorand check documents including test plans and reports certificationreports and other engineering documents.
Perform trade studies involving weight costreliability and manufacturability.
Conduct ground lab and flight testing of parachutecomponents and systems.
Travel to testing sites and supplier locations asrequired.
Must havestrong written and verbal communication skills on technical issuesand have a high level of initiative to fill gaps whennecessary.
Completeproject assignments and take responsibility for designs and designoutcomes.
Proficient inMicrosoft Office (Outlook Excel Powerpoint Word Teams).
MinimumQualifications :

Bachelors degree in MechanicalEngineering or Aerospace Engineering.
68 years of engineering experience.
Experience working on or withparachutes.
Experiencewith extraction systems.
Experience with textiles.
Experience with Windchill PDM and Creo / ProE.
Familiarity with SAE ARP4754A &ARP4761 guidelines and procedures and ASTM standards.
Experience working on typecertification of an aircraft from start to finish under any of 14CFR Part 23 / 25 / 27 / 33 / 35 / 36 or equivalent regulations.
Familiarity with DO160environmental testing.
Required Skills :
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to readwrite and speak the English language
Demonstrated ability to work crossfunctionallywith Chief Engineers and management peer groups.
Out of the box thinking to deliverrequired technical solutions to meet program goals.
Show initiative and ability to workin absence of a defined process.
Excellent technical writing presentation and interpersonalcommunication skills.
Sound judgement and decisionmaking skills.
Able to work with program managersand project leaders to develop and hold accountability toschedules.
