The Head of Enterprise Data Products is a global leadership position within the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team responsible for working across all capability pillars and close partnership with internal constituent groups managing acquired data and its data products as a strategic asset for Takeda.
This role will be accountable for collaborating with stakeholders to shape the data and analytics vision / roadmap and steer cross-functional pods in the delivery of data products to support digital, analytics, and BI.
To achieve this, you will build and lead your team to create new processes, technologies, tools, and capabilities in response to the needs of your core stakeholders to enable their analytics and digital strategy.
Our Enterprise Data Backbone (EDB) is built on a trusted data marketplace experience and will be key to accelerating data availability to our business partners.
This role will report to the Head of Enterprise Data Management and Innovation and work with key stakeholders.
How you will contribute :
Lead / co-lead data product preparation, solutioning, and design for data products that create transformational business outcomes, at scale from the investment at the enterprise level.
This also includes data products developed utilizing Real World Data (RWD).
- Develop / co-develop and deliver a consistent product vision, strategy, and roadmap for several products related to Data, Insights, Business Intelligence, and Analytics, working on multiple products in a highly federated complex environment.
- Deeply understand the external data products domain and data provided by external data partners (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, Specialty Pharma) in lieu of bringing some of the external data preparation work internal to Takeda Global with reusability for enterprise.
- Own a portfolio of data products (models) from concept to delivery and aligned with BU / BF.
- Deeply understand the Patient data ecosystems and privacy considerations of utilizing external data at a global level.
- Partner with BU / Fs and Enterprise Analytics, Data Science, Data Architecture, Data Quality & Governance, Engineering teams, Commercial, Insight & Analytics, Product Design, and other Program Management team members to develop, test, and deliver high-quality data products and features that can be easily consumed in our Data Marketplace.
- Manage scrum processes for product engineering teams (define and prioritize the backlog, create stories, coordinate and oversee sprint planning and execution, ensure process improvements through retrospectives, and track velocity / burndown).
- Deeply understand the data collection, flow, transformation, and reporting requirements.
- Grow the data products team globally and ensure they are consistently developing and documenting detailed product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
- Partner with stakeholders to build a global project execution plan that supports strategic growth and drives incremental revenue with consumable data products that can be reused and drive business 360 Views.
- Partner with business leaders to balance the delivery of product features that drive the business vs. platform foundational capabilities that drive scalability and resiliency.
- Responsible for finding ways to leverage data flow throughout an entire product lifecycle (not just the design stage), and they use that data to build and perfect a feature or product.
- Translate business goals and end user needs into data product strategy; communicate direction and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
- Develop and maintain critical business relationships throughout the organization, ensuring senior leaders are consistently well informed about external DATA products priorities, capabilities, timelines, issues, and releases.
- Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
- Advocate for the highest standards of technical and operational excellence. Ensure we’re building highly scalable and repeatable capabilities in the best manner possible.
- Conduct end-user research to help identify user stories and help determine Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Monitor research as well as the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
- Ensure data products are aligned with company, stakeholder, and end-user priorities to drive sales, improve efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met.
- Create, prioritize, and accept user stories; incorporate them into release planning.
- Make product decisions that drive value on a daily basis.
- Identify pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
- Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
- Facilitate conversations between all impacted stakeholders executives, engineers, analysts, other product teams, and external customers who consume the data.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications :
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a product owner, global delivery lead, or team lead capacity.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in leading data product domains (commercial, real-world evidence, patient) and extensive working knowledge with external and real-world data globally (e.
g., IQVIA, Komodo, Symphony, Specialty Pharma etc.).
- Vast knowledge of the patient data ecosystem, its laws, and data anonymization requirements. Understanding of HIPAA and patient de-identification requirements.
- Vast experience in the software development life cycle, agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Ability to effectively liaise with all levels across the organization.
- Experience working directly with external data consumers and insight and analytics teams.
- Highly analytical and collaborative qualities with strong technical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment where change is the norm.
- Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as comfort using those skills to drive change and alignment.
- Ability to break down complex product requirements into actionable user stories.
- Ownership mentality with strong initiative to achieve results. Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
- Excellent project management, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Prior experience in highly regulated Healthcare Industry / Pharma.

U.S. Base Salary Range : $169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will be performing the job.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and / or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
