The CFO will lead the financial operations of CMK Construction, a premier kitchen remodeling company committed to delivering high-quality renovations.
This role requires a strategic leader with experience in the construction or remodeling industry to optimize financial performance, drive profitability, and manage financial risk.
The CFO will work closely with the executive team to support the company’s growth objectives and ensure financial stability.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Strategy and Planning :
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support CMK Construction’s growth.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, aligning them with the company’s operational goals.
- Evaluate potential investments, expansions, or cost-saving opportunities.
- Cash Flow and Capital Management :
- Ensure adequate cash flow to support ongoing and future projects.
- Oversee capital investments and secure financing as needed for company growth and project funding.
- Implement strategies to optimize accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Project Cost Management :
- Collaborate with project managers to assess and control job costing, materials procurement, and labor expenses.
- Implement financial controls to monitor and reduce waste, rework, and other non-billable costs.
- Provide financial oversight on bids and estimates to improve profitability.
- Risk Management and Compliance :
- Manage financial risks, including pricing volatility in materials and project delays.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax obligations, and insurance requirements specific to the remodeling industry.
- Maintain internal audit processes to mitigate risk and support accurate financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis :
- Provide regular financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow projections.
- Analyze financial performance against benchmarks, identifying trends and providing insights for improvement.
- Prepare and present financial results and recommendations to the CEO and board.
- Vendor and Subcontractor Relations :
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain cost-efficiency.
- Manage payment schedules, contracts, and pricing agreements to support timely and profitable project completion.
- Team Leadership :
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of financial management experience, preferably in the construction or remodeling industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, and project finance.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
