Minimum Qualifications Psychiatrist 2, SG-38 :
Salary : $253,749
License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND certification in general psychiatry by the ABPN.
Limited Permit Option : You may be eligible for appointment to Psychiatrist 2 if you have licensure in another state or Canada AND a current limited permit to practice medicine in New York State.
If appointed, you must obtain your license within one year of the date your limited permit was issued. Failure to do so will result in removal from your position.
Duties Description The selected candidate will serve as Attending Psychiatrist and will provide supervisory oversight and clinical care on the 12-bed inpatient clinical research Eating Disorders Unit.
The mission of this unit, which is part of the Metro NY Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders and is recognized as a Center of Excellence, is to deliver superior evidence-based patient care;
support state-of-the-art mental health research activities; and educate medical students, psychiatric residents, and psychology interns and externs in the treatment of individuals with severe eating disorders.
The Attending will provide direct psychiatric care to patients admitted to the EDU and will supervise post-graduate trainees in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with severe eating disorders.

If you are appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
3. License and Certification : Loss of license or limited permit to practice medicine in New York State or board certification, if required, may result in removal from your position.
