POSITION SUMMARY
Reports To : Director Hospital Based Violence Intervention Program
Trainings : Annual, CPI , AHA BLS and HeartSaver First Aid required within 90 days of hire or transfer
Position Summary : The Intervention Specialist is a 12 month position primarily responsible for responding to hospital, community and other places deemed appropriate as a first responder to potential program participants who present to the Hospital following a violent injury. The Intervention Specialist will engage potential program participants to forge important relationships with program participants, friends, family members and community in an attempt to assess potential for retaliatory behaviors and to encourage engagement in psycho-social resources and other services. The Intervention Specialist will have direct knowledge and understanding of the target geographic and / or have strong relationships and ties to the community.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Minimal Qualifications :
Entry level knowledge, lived experience or basic employment skills, High School Diploma
Preferred :
Knowledge of geographic, cultural / linguistic match to community
Licensure
Valid NJ driver's license
Equipment Use : Computer, copier, facsimile, and shredder. Driving record to pass check and ability to drive in day / night and reasonable weather conditions.
