Junior Consultant Budget Analyst / Auditor Part-time - Remote
BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a part-time Junior Consultant Budget Analyst / Auditor - Remote. Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

What will you do?
As a Junior Consultant Budget Analyst / Auditor, you will possess knowledge of Federal Budget guidelines and procedures, automated data processing systems used to process budgetary and managerial information, and operational and fiscal controls applicable to grant management, administrative, oversight funding, and flex funding.
Responsibilities :
- Apply knowledge of Federal Budget guidelines and procedures to support budget management and analysis.
- Utilize automated data processing systems to handle budgetary and managerial information.
- Implement and maintain operational and fiscal controls for grant management, administrative funding, oversight funding, and flex funding.
- Manage and perform internal control reviews to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Provide expertise in budget business processes, specifically in grant management.
- Understand and apply federal appropriations law, GAO Red Book, A-11, and A-123.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through strong communication and writing skills.
- Organize tasks efficiently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college / university in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in managing and performing internal control reviews.
- Strong understanding of budget business processes and grant management.
- Knowledge of federal appropriations law, GAO Red Book, A-11, and A-123.
- Positive attitude and strong communication and writing skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project for preparing, editing, and finalizing reports, documents, task orders, and briefings.
Nice to Have :
- Additional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CGFM with three years of experience.
- Recent experience in related government or consulting roles.
- Previous experience with large-scale federal projects or agencies.
