Currently, we're on the lookout for Direct Support Professionals to lend support to participants in our Community Integration Program.

Our Community Integration Program :

This is our 100% community-based day program serving adults with an intellectual or developmental disability. This program focuses on pre-vocational skills, safe use of public transportation, social skills practice, and exploration of individual interests.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for :

• Meeting participants at a community hub each morning, and facilitating the scheduled activities for the day, including the use of public transportation.
• Providing opportunities for the participants to develop socialization / interpersonal communication skills and practice self-regulation / coping techniques.
• Providing hands-on training, observation, and evaluation of the participant's pre-vocational skills, and finding educational opportunities or classes to assist with further development.
• Advocating for participants' inclusion in the community and empowering them to exercise their rights.
• Using BuildAbility’s digital program to log the individual’s progress and performance.

Schedule :

• Part-time (roughly 27 hours a week)
• Monday to Friday, 9 : 30 a.m. - 3 : 30 p.m.

Compensation :

Starting at $19.00 - $22.00 / hour (depending on prior experience and qualifications)

Requirements :

Required Qualifications :

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals with disabilities, their family members, employers, and others in a positive and constructive manner.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass a DOJ Live Scan fingerprinting background clearance.
• Valid California Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Proof of full vaccination or submit a request for accommodation based upon a medical condition or deeply held religious belief.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Fluent in Spanish.
• Cultural awareness and adaptability.
• Familiarity with the Los Angeles Metro system (MetroGo app, route planning, etc.).
• Knowledge of HCBS Final rule guidelines.
• Crisis management skills.
• Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities. If you don’t have experience, we will provide on-the-job training.
