A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a skilled Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and overseeing document review processes.
In-court experience is preferred. The role requires exceptional academic credentials and superior written and verbal communication skills.
Bar admission in California or eligibility to promptly obtain admission is required.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of commercial litigation cases from inception to resolution.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis of legal issues.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Handle discovery processes, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions and court hearings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation.
- Assist with trial preparation and strategy.
Requirements :
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
- Should have 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably including courtroom experience.
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation tactics.
- Excellent academic credentials and writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards and client confidentiality.
