Job Description

Under supervision of the City Attorney and / or his designee, the Junior Management Assistant performs general administrative and management functions with rotating assignments and assists the City Attorney and executive staff with various projects.

The essential functions of the job include :

  • Performs administrative and management functions in the areas of operations, and / or office management / support services, including preparing, proofreading and delivering confidential documents for the City Attorney
  • Coordinates and assists in administering Office’s internship program
  • Assists in the preparation of fiscal reports
  • Coordinates clerical and technical support activities
  • Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data, usually of a confidential nature, and prepares confidential reports
  • Assists in developing and recommending changes to rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assists in the analyses of programs, proposals, and projects

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education :

Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Substitution :

Qualifying experience performing professional-level administrative duties in functional areas such as : program / office / operations management, budget development and / or administration, or contract / grant administration may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

One (1) year (2000 hours) of qualifying experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Forms, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress
  • Experience with website design or editing
