has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Senior Director of Nonprofit Accounting to provide strategic leadership and financial management services to the nonprofit clients of a reputable midsized public accounting firm.

Reporting to the Nonprofit Partner, the Senior Director works with multiple clients, providing financial guidance and support to assist them in achieving their mission and goals.

The Senior Director is responsible for financial planning, budgeting,

forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the nonprofit sector and will possess strong abilities in communicating financial information to nonprofit finance professionals, executives, board members, and other key stakeholders.

This role operates on a hybrid basis in the firm's San Francisco or Petaluma offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide financial leadership and strategic guidance to nonprofit clients, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial repoting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures for clients.
  • Collaborate with client leadership to develop financial strategies that support their mission and goals.
  • Conduct regular financial analyses to identify areas of opportunity or risk.
  • Provide guidance and support for fundraising efforts and grant applications.
  • Communicate financial information to clients, board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm's client base.
  • Manage and mentor accounting staff, set clear performance goals and expectations for team members and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Overseeing a team of 5, provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of various projects.
  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with clients while bringing in new business.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 7 years in public accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nonprofit accounting experience.
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong team leadership and management skills and ability to mentor and develop accounting staff.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make an immense impact at a well-respected, midsized public accounting firm.

In addition to a base salary of $175,000 to $185,000 annually (DOE), this role provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, generous vacation and sick time, 12 paid holidays, 401K or Roth with 3% matching and profit sharing, CPE hours paid for by the firm and more.
