JobDescription :

The successfulcandidate will have the opportunity to contribute to thedevelopment of products used to ensure first responders andmilitary personal are able to communicate successfully when theyare executing their missions.

This position is for anExperienced Electrical Engineer to join the Components EngineeringTeam. The individual will work within a team environment to helpanalyze select and qualify components and technology used in thecompanys offerings.

Investigates alternate component technologiesor supplies that reduce cost improve quality reliability and / orexportability and implement changes as approved.

Acts as technicalinterface between component / production suppliers or governmentalrepresentatives and development engineers to determine alternateapproved sources.

Develops guidelines / procedures on vendorselection and classification of technology. Evaluates supplierchange notification and qualifies changes as needed.

May maintaincomponent data management system including qualification orcommodity classification records / results / documentation.

Qualifications

Component engineeringinvolves working with designers manufacturers purchasing qualityenvironmentalhealthsafety program management and vendors to ensurethe compatibility of all components.

Component engineers mustconsider factors of cost schedule and the requirements of thecustomer. Component engineers must possess skills to help them workwith many different functional groups withinL3Harris.

Requirements :

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering

Working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanicalcomponents

A passion curiosity and comfort of componentsand technology in our industry

Proficient in MicrosoftOffice Suite : Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint Agile knowledge aplus

Excellent verbal and written communicationskills

PreferredAdditional Skills :

Skills in general engineering and experience with ComponentsEngineering.

Knowledge of the principles ofelectronics.

Knowledge of connectors and cables is aplus.

Knowledge of the principles of materials materialsscience physics.

Understanding of the physical makeupand behavior of metals and materials.

Ability to work in amultifunctional team environment; communicate and collaboratewithin the team environment and be open minded to discussionswithin the teams.

Knowledge / familiarity with militaryand industrial specifications and standards as well as test methodsas they relate to parts and materials.

Familiarity withmechanical part and materials requirements.

Ability tointerface with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure programrequirements are met.

Understanding of diagrams / drawingselectrical mechanical circuitry and how to interpretthem.

Understanding of product lifecycle management; toknow when a component is going to be obsolete or to analyze theformfitfunctionality changes in the component.

Researching alternate components for discontinuedcomponents.

Very good written and verbal communicationskills.

Willingness to be adaptable flexible and work ona broad number of items as needed.

Ability to navigateand use different software tools such as : Agile EDP AccessIHS.
