Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian I provides age appropriate nutrition care with an emphasis on family centered care through competent practice, education, and consultation;

participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team. This individual serves as a resource for the medical and nursing staff, ancillary team members and community providers.

Will utilize clinical practice & knowledge of pediatric nutrition, the nutrition care process, & medical nutrition therapy to provide evidence-based nutrition care.

Pay Range

Minimum $69,546 Midpoint $92,184 Maximum $114,779

Experience

  • Required : Completion of a minimum of twelve (12) weeks Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics accredited dietetic internship in an acute care setting.
  • Preferred : One year of clinical nutrition experience, pediatrics preferred.

Education

Required : Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Dietetics or Nutrition related field from an accredited university. Successful completion of the registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian within 45 days of hire.

Training

Required : California Children's Services (CCS) panel-eligible (per CCS paneling requirements) within two years of employment.

Specialized Skills

Required : Knowledge of and ability to provide appropriate family-centered patient care based upon age appropriateness and cultural needs.

Excellent customer satisfaction skills; care with sensitivity and respect. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to successfully provide / promote safe care within the parameters of licensure and regulatory requirements, practice requirements and hospital systems.

Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner. Ability to set goals and evaluate results in accordance with the highest standards.

Licensure

  • Required : Successful completion of the registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian within 45 days of hire.
  • Preferred : Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration; California Children’s Services (CCS) paneled.

Work Environments - Functional Demand :

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push / pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
