JOB SUMMARY :

Assist with launch and change management for business unit coordinates pilot build schedules with production, assist Materials on warehouse layouts and part flows;

spearheads change management for the plant to clearly understand change specifics, each groups’ roles and requirements to prepare for the change and how to implement with minimal plant impact.

Demonstrate the ability to maintain and promote the 5C’s (Care-Commit, Connect, Communicate, & Celebrate).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Drives and coordinates launch and change related activities with plant cross-functional teams and suppliers
  • Provides regular updates on all open issues / status ensuring all activities are completed on time and within target framework
  • Maintains and updates the LM Mfg. database
  • Facilitates weekly meetings to discuss upcoming new product launches with the LM MFG cross-functional team
  • Leads pre-production builds and PERs to ensure all LM MFG departments are aware of the customer delivery requirements report results to LM Mfg. management.
  • Assists Operations, MPS & Engineering with builds to become familiar with the product to be able to assist at the customer plant during pilot builds.
  • Works in conjunction with the LM Mfg. Corporate Product Engineering and Program Management groups to develop timelines for all subsequent launch activities communicates these timelines to the LM MFG team regularly.
  • Ensures all LM Mfg. departments have updated the documentation for new changes, per the NPPC process.
  • Works directly with Customer SQE’s to communicate the status of the product launches.
  • Serves as first point of contact with all manufacturing and engineering groups for coordination.
  • Understands scope and timing for engineering changes from Corporate Engineering and establishes timing and activities to implement the change at the Seating plant.
  • Understands part pedigree requirements for each pilot build event.
  • Verifies completed design package to the approved PCN paperwork.
  • Obtains seat BOM's from engineering and interpret impacts to seat plant systems.
  • Communicates with suppliers to agree upon timing / events for the changes.
  • Coordinates with customer to ensure proper paperwork is in place for design change implementation and PER parts.
  • Supports and enforces the principles of Company goals and objectives, and decisions and policies by taking ownership and communicating these in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures. /
  • Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with company policies, the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

  • Ensures all employees and visitors have a safe environment in that safety and housekeeping standards are maintained; and all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and / or eliminated.
  • Responds to and investigates all reports of injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately.

Takes an active part in the division’s safety program by performing regular workplace inspections, effectively investigates accidents / incidents promptly, and assists in meeting or exceeding the division’s safety goals.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Authorities as detailed in our Quality System for ISO / TS16949 2009 including but not limited to Corrective and Preventative Actions, Control of Documents, Control of Records, Internal Audits and Control of Nonconforming Product.

QUALIFICATIONS :

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS :

  • Schedule and maintains training systems including training records, training calendar.
  • Collects and reports on training metrics (training costs, hours of training, budget, etc.)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction of training activities.
  • Liaises within production to coordinate training program delivery.
  • Assists with development and facilitation of in-house training programs to support company initiatives.
  • Assesses training needs and sources appropriate courses, instructors, and training facilities.
  • Evaluates course effectiveness.
  • Sets up training and workshops, prepares training materials and training documentation.
  • Liaises with other divisions for training needs, opportunities, and resources.
  • Facilitating of the :
  • Core team training efforts
  • OJT Train-the-Trainer processes
  • Creating and delivering training packages and tools to core team members
  • Work directly with Sr. Leadership and development Specialists
  • Perform other duties as designated.

  • Ability to work in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The Launch Coordinator works in both an office environment as well as a manufacturing environment. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

Able to work shift work. Able to be flexible in hours (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.).

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL ABILITIES :

Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposed to varying temperature within plant depending upon external weather condition.

The training coordinator works in both an office environment as well as a manufacturing environment. Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

Able to work shift work. Able to be flexible in hours (scheduled and non-scheduled overtime shifts, etc.). Must be available to work overtime including weekends and holidays.
