KQED's Education Department is a distinct and critical contributor to KQED's public service mission, creating and disseminating unique, engaging educational content focused on enhancing educator effectiveness and accelerating learning for youth aged 11-18 in the Bay Area and beyond.

KQED elevates diverse youth voices by developing their ability to analyze and evaluate information sources, create media that powerfully communicate their ideas, and share their unique voices with a broad public media audience so that they experience being part of the public conversation and gain readiness for civic life.

We help educators to create learning environments of the 21st century by promoting media literacy, student voice, civic engagement, creative expression, and using digital media.

We are looking for a School District Partnerships Manager who is :

Strategic. You lead the implementation of all KQED Education products and services in schools and districts. You prioritize the products and services that fit individual Bay Area schools and school districts' needs and refine approaches to implementation that meet the identified needs and priorities.

You measure results, make data-backed decisions, and iterate strategies and tactics.

A leader. You lead the development and communicate the strategy, goals and outcomes for each school and district partnership with KQED to all stakeholders and team members.

You articulate the KQED products and services value proposition to potential partners.

Audience-focused. You are a strong communicator who can successfully navigate complex systems. You understand and can communicate effectively with educators.

You understand and can communicate effectively with school administrators.

You are inspired by the vision of transforming young people's ability to think critically about the media they consume online and empowering them to share their own ideas through their own media creations.

On a given day, you might be writing a product and service implementation plan for a school district, pitching KQED Education resources to school and school district administrators, or delivering a quarterly report to key partners (such as school districts or other educational partners).

The mission that drives us :

KQED provide citizens of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. We provide citizens with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions;

convene community dialogue; bring the arts to everyone and engage audiences to share their stories. We help students and teachers thrive in 21st-century classrooms, and take people of all ages on journeys of exploration- exposing them to new people, places and ideas.

This role will be a hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters in San Francisco's Mission District and working remotely.

KQED requires a minimum of two days in office per week, including Wednesdays for the Education Department. KQED requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19,.

Salary Information : $79,000-$99,000 Annually

Essential Functions :

  • Lead school district implementation strategy for KQED Education products and services including KQED Teach, KQED Youth Media Challenge, PBS Media Literacy Certification and related professional learning services.
  • Work with current and prospective school and school district partners to determine needs, then deliver and support custom plans for integration of KQED education resources and services.
  • Work with the Education marketing team to identify new schools and districts to pitch KQED products partnership opportunities.
  • Lead planning and kick-off meetings. Coordinate implementation tactics with internal and external professional development teams and related partner stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the product team to complete district implementation processes including any needed coordination of student data, privacy and system integration efforts.
  • Coordinate with Education professional development team to deliver professional development for educators as part of district implementation plan.
  • Deliver professional development for educators as part of an implementation plan.
  • Track implementation status.
  • Report on usage metrics in districts. Identify opportunities for improvement and share findings with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Regularly communicate with school or district program managers to understand challenges to adoption and usage of our tools, emerging trends, and how KQED can improve the effectiveness of product and service implementation.
  • Lead and manage the KQED Education Administrator Advisory Board.
  • Communicate across multiple stakeholders in various channels in a way that drives awareness, connection and adoption of KQED Education resources.

Other Job Functions

  • Works effectively as an individual and team member, and collaborates with KQED Education staff and other KQED departments
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned
  • Represents KQED at local and regional events, as needed

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in education partnership development; prospecting, nurturing, project planning, reflection and ongoing relationship management.
  • Experience communicating regularly with existing partners and identifying additional opportunities for collaborating with partners.
  • Ability to understand school district needs and meet those needs with successful product and services implementation plans.

Previous district or school-based experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to track results, analyze information and communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, follow-through capabilities and personal accountability for performance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication as well as presentation skills in diverse environments.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and other organizations.
  • Commitment to educational equity for all students.
  • Motivated, self-starter attitude.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience working with school administrations or across multiple organizations

  • Experience working with Salesforce

Credentials / Education Desired

BA in, Communication, Business, Marketing, or a teaching credential, and / or comparable professional experience

Other

  • 2-4 trips a year to support statewide or national conferences or events.
