Skills :
- Patient Care : Providing direct care to students, including administering medications, wound care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with personal hygiene.
- First Aid and Emergency Response : Ability to handle medical emergencies, such as injuries, allergic reactions, or sudden illnesses, and provide immediate assistance.
- Communication : Clear and effective communication with students, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals regarding students' health concerns and treatment plans.
- Documentation : Accurately maintaining records of students' health information, medications administered, treatments given, and any changes in their health status.
- Collaboration : Working collaboratively with school staff, counselors, and healthcare providers to ensure the overall well-being of students and to develop health plans for those with chronic conditions.
- Empathy and Patience : Being compassionate and understanding when dealing with students who may be anxious, scared, or in pain.
- Health Education : Providing health education and guidance to students on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care to promote a healthy lifestyle.
- Organizational Skills : Managing multiple tasks efficiently, including scheduling student appointments, maintaining medical supplies, and keeping track of students' health records.
- Adaptability : Being flexible and able to handle unexpected situations or changes in students' health conditions or school policies.
- Cultural Competence : Respecting and understanding cultural differences among students and their families, which can impact healthcare practices and beliefs.
- CPR and Basic Life Support : Having certification and proficiency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and basic life support techniques.
- Medication Management : Ensuring accurate administration of medications, following proper protocols, and being knowledgeable about potential side effects or interactions.
