ManTech is seeking a Class A CDL Licensed Driver (Part Time on Call - PTOC) to support our contract with The Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory, Science & Technology Division.

The part time driver will operate our Dodge 3500 and tow the 40' flatbed gooseneck trailer, as required by the customer.

ManTech, Marines Division, Stafford (VA) Campus, is seeking a professional driver with a Class A, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to provide on-call support to our Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) contract through the safe transport and delivery of gear and equipment for Science & Technology Division.

This role does NOT require a security clearance but driver will be required to drive on / off DoD installations.

General Responsibilities :

• Serve as a driver of a dual-rear wheel / 1 ton diesel pickup truck for the towing of enclosed and flatbed trailers loaded with tactical gear and equipment to / from various locations within the National Capital Region (NCR) to include on / off Department of Defense (DoD) installations
• Be able to drive and successfully operate a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,000 lbs
• Be proficient with both bumper pull and gooseneck trailer configurations
• Perform regular safety inspections of truck and trailers; ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards
• Perform safety checks of brakes, turn signals, lights, and mirrors prior to each trip to ensure road readiness
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance to truck and trailers; ex. maintain fluid levels, inflate tires, change tires, refueling, and cleaning
• Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability through multiple legs of trips
• Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying special attention to chains, pins, jack positions, tie-downs, lights, and tires
• Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo and equipment, as required
• Adhere to SOP and traffic safety regulations at all times; exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisor
• Maintain close and continuous communication with supervisor during trips
• Document hours accurately

Minimum Requirements :

• High school diploma or GED
• US Citizen
• Current Class A CDL license or Military Occupational Speciality (MOS) code with training and experience that meets the requirements for CDL waiver (Troops to Trucks) with Virginia DMV
• 2 years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents; preferably in VA
• Proof of completion of a professional truck driving educational program
• Availability to support Part Time On Call (PTOC) tasking from supervisor
• Enthusiasm to support the Marine Corps and to deliver equipment safely and on time

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Must be able to freely move on and around truck and trailer
