Job Responsibilities

Manage and develop direct reports, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to ensure professional growth and development.

Implement short-term strategies to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

Review Corporate, Partnership, Trust, and Individual tax returns for entertainment industry professionals, athletes, high net worth, and family office clients, and all their related entities.

Conduct online tax research and provide solutions to complex tax issues.

Oversee accounting work necessary for tax returns.

Develop and nurture long-term relationships with clients, serving as their trusted advisor.

Champion the implementation of innovative solutions to meet client needs.

Review and confirm assignment objectives, scope, and work plan with clients.

Identify assignment resource requirements and ensure the appropriate resources are assigned to specific roles.

Anticipate, identify, and resolve complex assignment issues.

Seek regular client assessment of assignment progress and overall feedback on performance.

Manage groups to ensure profitability in the short and long term.

Support the partner team in identifying and promoting the development of new delivery capabilities and / or channels to satisfy evolving market requirements.

Assist in the development and planning of practice unit strategy, objectives, and budgets.

Identify and develop new initiatives to increase retention, meet resourcing needs, utilization, and people development.

Share and transfer knowledge and skills to the team.

Engage in ongoing personal development in line with the competency model.

Work and support tax teams in the Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, and New York City areas.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Active CPA or EA license required.

Minimum of 5 years of U.S. tax consulting / compliance experience in public accounting.

Minimum of 1 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.

Experience with a wide variety of entity types.

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Strong project management and leadership skills, including the ability to successfully coach and mentor talented people.

Technical proficiency in tax software applications.

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in the delivery of quality client service.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters in Taxation preferred

Experience with Entertainment industry clients
