Job Description

The General Maintenance Technician I performs basic services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, interior finishes, and appliance servicing. This position will be responsible for daily cleanup throughout the entire property regarding groundskeeping. Must be able to identify basic maintenance defects for repair. This position will also require working as part of a team and carrying out tasks as assigned by the leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

Works in a team environment in a primarily response role to complete inspections, repairs, preparation of guest units, and at times, grounds upkeep. Assist guests and staff in the resolution of unit and facility maintenance concerns, complaints, and questions

Assist maintenance and housekeeping teams in the preparation of the property for guests

Perform general maintenance duties and groundskeeping as assigned by the manager or supervisor

Maintain accurate records of units serviced and work performed

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED

Groundskeeping or landscaping experience is highly preferred

A combination of six months of facility and / or building / construction maintenance experience and / or vocational training is preferred; however, this is an entry-level role within the maintenance department

Bilingual a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

Have the ability to perform skilled work in basic general maintenance and groundskeeping

Ability to learn skills in painting, tile, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical

Must be able to problem-solve and participate in troubleshooting major appliances

Must know hand and power tools, and have a mechanical aptitude

Must be able to provide excellent face-to-face guest communication

Must be able to follow written instructions and complete documentation associated with unit maintenance

Must have basic problem-solving skills
