Part Time Afternoons
Position Summary :
Prepares medications for use by all services (medical, surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics / gynecology, emergency medicine, intensive care, transitional care, occupational health, behavioral health, hospice and physical office practices) under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
Assists the pharmacist in the provision of all aspects of pharmaceutical care, medication procurement and distribution, compliance with Federal and State regulations and HFAP accreditation standards, and financial management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Prepares medications using appropriate techniques, in accordance with physician orders, and following McLaren Lapeer Region policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist
- Medications prepared include I.V. admixtures, unit dose, bulk medications, and compounded medications as needed
- Maintains proper inventory level of pharmacy supplies throughout the hospital, including automated dispensing units (i.e., Omnicell, Pyxis)
- Inputs daily charges and credits into the computer
Required :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Mathematical proficiency
- Data entry experience
- Active State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License
Preferred :
- Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Previous computer experience
- Previous experience as Pharmacy Technician
