Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Staff Information Systems Engineer, MS Windows to join our dynamic and expanding organization.
In this role, you will serve as a technical leader within the IT organization, collaborating cross-functionally and with senior leadership to enhance performance and employee efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include designing, presenting, troubleshooting, and implementing Microsoft-based infrastructure solutions.
This position reports to the Director IT Operations.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $136,000 - $214,500 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Design, implement, and support Microsoft Suite of products to including but not limited to Office 365, Windows Server and related cloud technologies
- Provide support on Microsoft 365 best practices and features related to Active Directory
- Provide expertise in Exchange Admin Center (EAC) and Exchange PowerShell scripting / cmdlets
- Manage and support SMTP relay solutions
- Manage and support Secure Email Gateway (SEG) solutions
- Provide extensive research, testing, troubleshooting and deployment background for developing and managing new solutions
- Manage O365 subscriptions, Microsoft licensing and user management
- Ensure the security and compliance of Microsoft 365 environments, including Active Directory
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 environments, including Active Directory
- Manage and support Microsoft Outlook and application configurations / protocols for Exchange and Exchange Online
- Develop and maintain technical documentation related to configuration, troubleshoot guides, user guides, FAQs, etc.
- Implement and manage security-related services, procedures, and protocols in accordance with enterprise standards, business requirements and best practices
- Adhere to enterprise change management guidelines and procedures
- Collaborate with other IT professionals, such as network engineers and security analysts, to ensure seamless integration with existing systems

- Deep understanding of identity not limited to Azure Active Directory, on-premises Active Directory, and integration of these directories.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering or related field or equivalent
- 12 years’ experience with Microsoft technologies with progressive growth
- Experience as an architect / team lead in similar environment
- Solid track record of assessing business needs, developing creative approaches, determining appropriate courses of action, and implementing solutions
- Hands on Experience with Active Directory Management, O365, AD Domain Migration, Group Policies, permissions, and security /
- Experience with Microsoft SCCM / Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams, OneDrive.
- Experience in cloud (AWS) or on-premises server virtualization (VMware),
- Experience with designing and implementing AWS AD Connector
- Experience working in a hybrid environment (AWS and On-Prem)
