What you will do
As an Associate you will play a central role in client engagements and contribute to business development and firm operations.
In close partnership with your engagement teams, you will work directly with clients, to analyze problems, conduct research, and collaborate in the design and development of solutions.
Core responsibilities for this role include :
- Conducting desk research and gathering perspectives from stakeholders through interviews and focus groups, and using those inputs to inform our recommendations for clients;
- Organizing and supporting facilitation of meetings with clients, including senior leaders;
- Producing clear and succinct written materials, including memos, visual presentations, and reports;
- Analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, raising critical questions, and communicating findings in presentations and reports;
- Providing project management support to internal teams, including keeping track of tasks and project timelines;
- Contributing to proposal and pitch writing for business development; and
- Contributing to internal strategy and operations of the firm through discrete assignments.
Who you are
You are an energetic, civic-minded person with the following skills and interests :
- A demonstrated interest or direct work experience in public policy or administration, or relevant nonprofits and community-based organizations;
- An interest in understanding how the public and civic sectors operate, and in building relationships with leaders in the civic sector to understand their work and perspectives;
- An ability to perform policy analysis and research to understand complex problems;
- An understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods and the ability to work with data to unpack problems in their context;
- Highly-effective written and communication skills and an ability to translate insights into clear and concise written work products or oral presentations;
- An ability to develop visual presentations that thoughtfully and succinctly communicate findings; and
- Strong skills in project and task management across simultaneous engagements.

Requirements
- An undergraduate degree or four years of relevant work experience;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and
- Authorization to work in the United States.

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $77,000. Please note that we are currently operating in a hybrid work environment, including in-person client meetings and some travel.
We currently require in-office presence at our office in Chelsea, Manhattan, a minimum of twice a week.
