Summary :
The Nursing Administrative Coordinator resolves problems that require an administrative decision or intervention in conjunction with hospital policies and procedures, and collaborates with Clinical Directors, associate administrators, and department directors in decisions that affect patient care and hospital functioning.
In addition, the Administrative Coordinator is called on to assist in clinical event management when necessary.
Responsibilities :
Represents the hospital, and when appropriate, responds to patient, visitor and hospital personnel issues.Provides both clinical and managerial mentorship to unit charge nurses in the absence of unit leadership.
Manages hospital emergencies, working with the Administrator on Call to optimize outcomes.Collaborates with the CDs, Nurse Managers, and charge nurses on the allocation of clinically competent staff based on units' census, NHPPD algorithm, and patient acuity.
Provides oversight and guidance to the assignment of resources for performing constant observation to patientsSupports nursing division in balancing financial models to achieve budget targets and organizational objectives.
Coordinates and responds to unusual events, such as mass casualty, floods, bomb threats, fires and radiation exposure.Participates with Bed Management to determine bed availability and prioritization of bed assignments.
Credentials :
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
- Registered Nurse - PA (Required)
- Supervisory exp required
- 3 yrs of Critical care experience preferred
Education or Equivalent Experience :
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
- Education Specialization : Nursing Equivalent Experience :
- And 3+ years Direct patient care
- And 1+ years Nursing supervisory experience. Inpatient nurse manager experience preferred, strong charge nurse experience acceptable
